The need to rest
This is Saboth. To a lot of us it is Saturday, but to those who are aware it is Saboth, the rest day of the Old testament. The day the Lord made for his purpose and the day we are the most active. Ever notice how we act on saturday? We are slow to rise sluggish and have no real energy. Have you noticed that we like to do nothing?? The reason is our clocks made in the image of God are slowing down, the need to rest is great on this day.In fact: it is the day God made , to rejoice, worship, and rest. On this day we renew ourselves, take a moment to take in the day. Yet we are constantly moving about getting things done working on the Sabbath. We go to the office (home or the work place), do errands and then wonder why we are not charged but depleted. We go to worship yet are not fulfilled. We stay at home resting when the body demands action, all because we do not rest on the Lord's day. Something to think about but just in case you you have an issue, look at the calendar!! See the start and the finish then read the genesis account of creation and after that ask yourselves: why and what has happened to cause this to be??? The answer in another blog...Later
